policy withdrawal

Your right of withdrawal

If you've changed your mind about an order, EU and French consumer law gives you the right to withdraw without giving a reason. This page sets out that right and how to exercise it.

Your 14-day cooling-off period

Under the French Code de la consommation (articles L221-18 and following), which implements EU Directive 2011/83/EU, you have 14 calendar days from the day you (or a third party other than the carrier) physically receive your order to withdraw from your purchase.

You do not need to give a reason, and you do not pay any penalty. From 19 June 2026, EU Directive 2023/2673 requires online sellers to provide a clearly visible withdrawal function. Our dedicated withdrawal page meets that requirement.

How to exercise your right

The fastest way: use our dedicated withdrawal page. You'll receive an automatic confirmation email with the return address and a unique reference.

Withdraw an order

You can also notify us by any of the following means:

  • By email to info@sueureceramics.com with your order number and a clear statement of withdrawal.
  • By post to Sue Ure Ceramics, 1174 Chemin de Sauviac, 32300 St Michel, France.

Whichever method you use, notification must reach us before the 14-day deadline expires.

After you notify us

  • Return the items within 14 days of notifying us, in their original packaging, unused and in resaleable condition.
  • Use a tracked service. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or faulty.
  • We will refund you in full (including the original standard outbound shipping cost) within 14 days of receiving the items back, using the same payment method you used for the original transaction.

Items not covered by the right of withdrawal

Under article L221-28 of the French Code de la consommation:

  • Goods made to your custom specification or personalised at your request.
  • Sale items clearly labelled as final sale at the time of purchase.

All other items in our range are covered by the standard 14-day right of withdrawal.

UK customers

Equivalent rights are provided by the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The same 14-day cooling-off period and process apply.

Full terms

The full conditions of withdrawal are set out in our Terms & Conditions and Return and Refund Policy.
